The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid takes the Adventure / Family route and wastes little time pretending life is going to remain orderly. Here, staying home would have been safer, but considerably less useful to the plot. The IMDb crowd seems broadly convinced, which is more than can be said for a lot of modern entertainment. The real question is whether the movie can keep its nerve once the setup is established — because a good premise is easy; landing the thing without driving into a hedge is the difficult bit.
