The Covenant

The Covenant takes the Action / Drama route and wastes little time pretending life is going to remain orderly. Here, things explode, plans go sideways, and sensible risk assessment has apparently taken the afternoon off. The IMDb crowd seems broadly convinced, which is more than can be said for a lot of modern entertainment. The real question is whether the movie can keep its nerve once the setup is established — because a good premise is easy; landing the thing without driving into a hedge is the difficult bit.
